The agency plays a critical role in protecting people from infectious diseases and in preventing harm when hazards involving chemicals, poisons or radiation occur. They also prepare for new and emerging threats, such as a bio-terrorist attack or a virulent new strain of disease.
UK Resilience provides emergency planning guidance and information on a wide variety of emergencies and crises that can affect the UK.
Preparing for Emergencies, has information on how you can help yourself and your family in emergencies. A lot of this information is based on common sense advice and may seem obvious or familiar to you, but it has saved lives in the past.
