Community development workers

We have community development workers who are responsible for working with people from black and minority ethnic groups around issues relating to mental health.

The role of the ethnic minority community development worker (CDW) for mental health is to reduce inequalities within mental health service provision for diverse communities. The success of the CDW role is dependent upon local strategies that support the involvement of local ethnic minority communities in mental health and social care service planning and development.
