Resources

The Northumberland health improvement resource service provides leaflets, posters and a small amount of other resources and equipment for loan (e.g. food games, sugar and fats boxes, smokers tar jar etc).  Please note: due to the current major reassessment of loan resources and equipment only leaflets and posters are in the catalogues at present.  Please contact Ray Woods, information and resources manager, with any queries concerning these resources and equipment items - 01670 840892.

Leaflets and posters are for the user to keep – all other resources and equipment are available to loan.

Please note: the resources from the Northumberland health improvement service are only available to organisations within Northumberland, England.

What’s available and how do I access it?

There are a series of downloadable resource catalogues available to download from this website.

Young people's resources are also available for Northumberland organisations to order. Download the young people's resources catalogue to see what's available.

If you need to request a paper copy of any of the resources catalogues please contact the information and resources manager on 01670 840892.

How do I place an order?

All requests must be made on the form below. All details must be entered onto the form and signed by the borrower.

Forms can be posted, faxed or emailed to the health improvement service. The address for the health improvement service is available below under Returning resources. The fax number for the service is 01670 816796.

Leaflet and poster requests must be kept separate from other resource and equipment orders. Please ensure you complete the correct form for the resources you wish to order.

Please note: telephone bookings are not permitted. Please do not phone us to make an order.

How will my order be delivered?

Orders are delivered by the community stores vans. These vans deliver only to health centres, clinics and hospitals in Northumberland.  On your booking form please give details of your nearest clinic, health centre or hospital from which you will pick up your order. Any items requiring delivery by the stores van must be ordered one month in advance.

Users can also pick up their order directly from the health improvement department at Epsom Drive Ashington. Orders that are being picked up by the user tend to be processed faster than those on delivery.

Returning resources

It is the responsibility of the borrower to return all items promptly to the department by the return date stated using one of the following methods:

  • Return resources to the health improvement service department in person
  • Return resources via Royal Mail
  • Return resources via Northumberland Care Trust vans – when using this method it is the borrower’s responsibility to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that the items will be delivered to arrive at the health improvement service department by the due date. If you cannot ensure resources arrive by the return date then you must use one of the other methods.

Please Note: all resources being returned to the service must be packaged appropriately and be addressed to:
