Healthy managers
Good managers recognise the strengths and potential of the staff working with them and promote their well-being at work. There is consistent evidence that management support is a key protector of mental health at work.
'An essential guide to mental health and well-being' is a useful and informative guide which is targeted at new managers but contains information that would be of benefit to all levels of management. The guide contains advice on:
- looking after your own wellbeing
- how to be a good manager
- managing your stress
- dealing with distress in employees
- recognising problems
- managing sickness absence
This resource was designed and produced in response to requests by local managers in Northumberland, and funded by Northumberland Health Action Zone.
